Additional goals would be service to adjudicated individuals, parent educa-
tion and the establishment of a core of some 40 volunteers to serve with the
Bureau. A Board of Directors would be established with representation from
each village and school district involved plus the Welfare Department and
students. Location of the Bureau is to be determined by the Board of Direc-
tors, with rent budgeted at $300.00/month.
Mr. Rau also stated that approval or disapproval of the proposal is expect-
ed in mid-March or April, with operation beginning July 1, 1976. He re-
quested a letter from each unit of government (Roseville is the sponsoring'
unit of government) stating they approve the concept and would be willing
to get involved in the Board.
..... At the February 23 Arden Hills Council meeting there was some ..
..... preliminary discussion of this proposal. Council instructed
..... Clerk McNeish to draft a letter indicating Council's recogni. .....
..... of the need for this type of activity but did not name a rep- .....
..... resentative to the Board.
..... Council does not wish to vote on this proposal until residents ....
..... have had an opportunity to contribute their input. Please take ...
..... time to study the above information and let your thoughts be .....
...., known.
1. Question: Is a
Bureau serving nine municipalities and two large school districts the "local
level"'?
"Services will be offered on a voluntary non -coercive basis." Question:
What are the ,alternatives to not using the Bureau? Possibly the same non -
alternatives presently used - "warn and release" or "petition to court"?
"An office site will be selected by the Board of Directors that is centrally
located and easily accessible by both private auto and public transportation".
Question: Considering the areas involved, is this realistic?
Total Approxi-
P.D.
