these inflationary times. I would appreciate the continued support bt,Arden
Hills residents and hope all eligible residents will vote, thoughtfully on
November 2 in the selection of two Councilmen."
I I
(The following
statements are from the candidates
for Councilmen.)
j
Doug Barthany ;
.... I have been a resident of Arden
Hills for over 0
r 2
years, residing
at 1926 Jerrold Ave, in Arden Hills.
I am married to Gwen
Barthany and we
have two children, Paul age 19 and
Susan age 17. I have beeni
associated with
the printing industry for the past
30 years and my wife has
been employed by the Mounds view School system for
the past 10 years.
"As a member of your community over the past 20 years, I have worked with
many of the local, county and state government units and have always had a
great interest in the problems and concerns facing the residents of Arden
Hills. I have always been dedicated to keeping Arden Hills an outstanding
suburban family community where families can raise their children in a good
environmental atmosphere, and where clean and respectable businesses can
prosper and contribute toward the promotion of employment.
"I truly believe Arden Hills is a fine place to live and raise a family.
Over the past 20 years, I have seen our village grow and I have been involv-
ed in the problems that accompany a growing village. I am more aware now
than ever of the role that our Council plays on the lives of all of us, the
residents of Arden Hills. It is my pledge to you that if you elect me to
the Council, I will be your voice on the Council to express your ideas and
concerns, and work for you in keeping Arden Hills a fine place to live....."
Ward Hanson, 1538 Glenhill Road: "Why am I, after 23 years of residence, a
candidate for the office of Councilman of Arden Hills? Through personal
contact with a succession of five mayors and many of the people of their
staffs, I have learned to appreciate the value of responsive local govern-
ment. Furthermore, when I began to take an active part, in 1966 by becoming
a member of the Planning Commission, I learned the value of good planning.
More recently, starting in 1972 as a member of the Finance Committee and as
Chairman the last four years, I learned how these administrations have been
able to give such good service without letting expenses get out of hand.
The vacancy left by Bill Feyereisen's resignation signaled the opportunity
for me to put this experience into action. By serving as Councilman, I hope
to assure the continuing responsive, efficient government Arden Hills has en-
joyed so much in the past and has a right to expect in the future."
"r..
Jim Luban, 1287 Ingerson Road: "As you know, one of our village Councilmen
recently moved from the area, thereby leaving a void on our Council. Arden
Hills needs a strong and viable Council that is concerned with the needs of
the village and its people.
"Having served in the past on the Arden Hills Public Works Committee (1975)
and as a present member of the village Planning and Zoning Commission, I
feel confident that the experience I have gainedfromthese positions has
provided me with the necessary insight and knowledge on the affairs of the
village to be able to adequately serve our community, if elected.
