ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />AUGUST 26, 2002 8 <br />� <br />I� <br />MOTION: Council Member Larson moved and Council Member Aplikowski <br />seconded to approve the amended City of Arden Hills Wage Scale <br />Progression Policy with the italicized portion deleted. The motion <br />carried unanimously (5-0). <br />D. CONTINUED DISCUSSION 2003 Budget - from Item 6. (b.)(1.) <br />Mayor Probst urged Council to approve the 2.94% levy. He suggested they delay <br />the purchase of the document imaging equipment until next year, or until such <br />time as it could be put back into the budget. <br />Council Member Aplikowski requested staff determine the various levy rates at <br />3.5% and 3.9% for the next Council meeting. <br />MOTION: Council Member Grant moved and Council Member Rem seconded <br />to approve to set the levy at 2.94% increase over the 2002 budget. <br />The motion carried (4-1 Council Member Aplikowski). <br />10. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Mr. Lynch stated the City was short-staffed and requested Council approve the <br />hiring of a temporary person to fill an administrative position. He also requested <br />the Council authorize staff to fill the position on a permanent basis. <br />Council authorized Mr. Lynch to proceed with hiring a temporary person and <br />advertise to fill the position on a permanent basis. <br />Council Member Grant stated the Maintenance Task Force Facility meeting was <br />tomorrow. <br />Council Member Larson had no comments. <br />Council Member Aplikowski expressed concern about a letter she received from a <br />garbage hauler and requested a future discussion regarding this. <br />Council Member Rem stated there was a Guidant meeting tomorrow night. <br />
