City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective IlcbruaQ,29,20136 <br />Employees will not work through a lunch break without prior approval from the City <br />Administrator,Director of Administrative Services or supervisor. <br />4 fflaximum efU12 to a one (1)hour unpaid lunch period may be provided in each eight(8) <br />hour workday with the approval of the employee's supervisor if breaks are combined with the <br />thirty(30)minute lunch.Exempt employees shall receive lunch periods at times determined <br />by the needs of their work. <br />Any employee who performs a regular eight(8)hour shift between the hours of <br />9:00 p.m.and 9:00 a.m.,or any employee who works more than five(5)consecutive hours of <br />overtime,shall be given a thirty(30)minute lunch break with pay. <br />Summer Hours <br />The City Council may annually approve summer hours of operation,which will typically <br />begin on the Tuesday after Memorial Day each year and <br />end on the Friday before Labor Day of, each year. <br />HOLIDAYS <br />All full-time employees are eligible for the following holidays: <br />New Yeats Day January 1st <br />Martin Luther King,Jr.Day Third Monday in January <br />President's Day Third Monday in February <br />Memorial Day Last Monday in May <br />Independence Day July 4th <br />Labor Day First Monday in September <br />Veterans Day November 11th <br />Thanksgiving Fourth Thursday in November <br />Day after Thanksgiving Fourth Friday in November <br />Christmas Eve Morning December 24`h(this turns into a floater in years that Formatted:superscript <br />Christmas Eve lands on a Saturday or a Sunday) <br />Christmas December 25``1 <br />New Year's Eve Morning December 31`(this turns into a floater in years that Formatted:superscript <br />New Year's Eve lands on a Saturday or aSunday) <br />1 Floating Holiday Determined by the employee with supervisor <br />approval <br />Whenever.a holiday falls on a Sunday,the following Monday will be considered the holiday. <br />Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday,the preceding Friday will be considered the holiday. <br />Employees will receive full pay at their normal straight time rates for eight(8)hours for each <br />holiday listed provided the employee is on compensated payroll status the last assigned work <br />35
