City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective February 29,2016 <br />PUBLIC EMPLOYEE'S RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION (PERA) <br />The City of Arden Hills is a member of the Public Employee's Retirement Association <br />PERA) to provide benefits for its eligible employees. Participation is mandatory for most <br />employees, and contribution to PERA begin immediately. The City and the employee <br />contribute to PERA each pay period as determined by state law. It is important for retiring <br />employees to contact the PERA office for a suitable annuity plan at least four months prior <br />to retirement. <br />Any person terminating employment with the City is entitled to a refund in the amount <br />deducted from the employee's paycheck. This amount may also be left in the retirement <br />fund, if vested. All terminating employees should check with PERA concerning ttheir <br />PERA contributions. <br />17
