City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective February 29,2016 <br />Departments with unique job or coverage requirements may have additional rules, issued <br />by the supervisor and subject to approval of the City Administrator, on the use of meal <br />breaks and rest periods. <br />Employees will not work through a lunch break without prior approval from the City <br />Administrator, Director of Administrative Services, or supervisor. <br />Up to a one (1) hour unpaid lunch period may be provided in each eight (8) hour workday <br />with the approval of the employee's supervisor if breaks are combined with the thirty (30) <br />minute lunch. Exempt employees shall receive lunch periods at times determined by the <br />needs of their work. <br />Any employee who performs a regular eight (8) hour shift between the hours of <br />9:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., or any employee who works more than five (5) consecutive hours <br />of overtime, shall be given a thirty (30) minute lunch break with pay. <br />Summer Hours <br />The City Council may annually approve summer hours of operation, which will typically <br />begin on the Tuesday after Memorial Day each year and end on the Friday before Labor <br />Day of each year. <br />HOLIDAYS <br />All full-time employees are eligible for the following holidays: <br />New Year's Day January 1st <br />Martin Luther King,Jr. Day Third Monday in January <br />President's Day Third Monday in February <br />Memorial Day Last Monday in May <br />Independence Day July 4th <br />Labor Day First Monday in September <br />Veterans Day November 11 th <br />Thanksgiving Fourth Thursday in November <br />Day after Thanksgiving Fourth Friday in November <br />Christmas Eve Morning December 24th (this turns into a floater in years <br />that Christmas Eve lands on a Saturday or a Sunday) <br />Christmas December 25" <br />New Year's Eve Morning December 31"" (this turns into a floater in years <br />that New Year's Eve lands on a Saturday or a Sunday) <br />1 Floating Holiday Determined by the employee with supervisor <br />approval <br />40
