Draft minutes from the meeting are included in Attachment G. The Planning Commission <br />offers the following findings of fact for consideration: <br /> <br />1. The proposed amendment will create greater consistency between the City Zoning Code <br />and the adopted Future Land Use Map. <br />2. The proposed amendment advances the Comprehensive Plan’s land use goals because it <br />assists in providing a balanced mix of residential, park, open space, and commercial land <br />uses. <br />3. The proposed amendment advances the Comprehensive Plan’s protected resources goals <br />because it implements regulations to protect the City’s natural resources, including trees, <br />lakes, wetlands, and other unique or significant natural resources. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />The findings of fact for the Zoning Code Amendment to Section 1315.01 (Official Zoning Map) <br />support approval. The Planning Commission reviewed Planning Case 16-001 and unanimously <br />recommends approval (4-0) for an amendment to Section 1315.01 (Official Zoning Map) of the <br />Arden Hills City Code related to the proposed Conservation District, Parks and Open Space <br />District, and Civic Center District rezoning, as presented in the March 28, 2016, Report to the <br />City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />Proposed Motion Language <br /> <br />1. Approve the proposed amendment (Recommended Action). <br />2. Deny the proposed amendment with reasons for denial. <br />3. Table the amendment for additional information. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br />Notice of the public hearing was published in the Shoreview-Arden Hills Bulletin on February <br />17, 2016, and mailed to all property owners within 500 feet of where the rezoning has been <br />proposed. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Comments <br />
