i \
•
BENEFITS TO DONORS
The most significant benefit to donors is the satisfaction of fulfilling their charitable goals. By making gifts
to the Foundation, donors can be certain their gifts will be put to good use in the community for the purposes
intended.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS INCLUDE:
PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY —A primary objective of the Foundation is to ensure that contributed funds
are used in accordance with the donor's direction and in the public interest. An independent professional
audit is made annually. All grants are publicly disclosed. Donors will not be named if they request
anonymity.
PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT — The Foundation provides a high quality, efficient level of
administration and management that individual trusts or smaller foundations may not economically obtain.
INVESTMENT — Funds are invested as part of a pool of hundreds of millions of dollars and are provided
professional investment management as well as substantial economies of scale compared to a smaller
investment pool.
SIMPLICITY — A gift to the Foundation simplifies charitable giving. One contribution can be used to
address a number of different community needs and benefit many charitable organizations. All record
keeping and tax reports are handled by the Foundation.
FLEXIBILITY — If a charitable organization ceases to exist or if the intended purpose of a donor's gift
becomes unnecessary, the Foundation will ensure that the gift continues to be used for purposes which are
consistent with the donor's intentions. Also, the size of a fund can be increased at any time through
additional gifts.
PERPETUITY—A primary objective of the Foundation is to generate permanent charitable funds that will
continue to provide benefits for the donor's community today and for years to come.
TAX TREATMENT — Contributions to the Foundation qualify as contributions to a public charity for
maximum deductibility for income, gift and estate tax purposes.
DONOR RECOGNITION—Donors can name their funds after themselves, their families,or another person
or place of their choosing. Some choose to identify a loved one, a friend, an organization or a family
member. If desired, funds can remain anonymous rather than be named.
