It wanted to learn how to prevent domestic <br /> violence in the first place, so the group sought to adjust its <br /> mission by addressing prevention. <br /> lacking the resources to study and better understand the root of <br /> domestic violence within the Latino culture, the group applied for <br /> and received a grant from The Saint Paul Foundation's <br /> Management Improvement Fund to undertake strategic planning" <br /> Today, Casa de Esperanza is fulfilling its vision through a series <br /> of domestic violence prevention programs. <br /> "The grant allowed us to listen to what the members of our <br /> • community had to say," says Lupe Serrano, executive director <br /> of Casa de Esperanza, "and that gave us the knowledge and <br /> the directive to create services that the Latino communities <br /> want and need." <br />
