The Band Shell Task Force determined that of all the sites considered, there are two
sites with the best potential for being the band shell location: the Snail Lake Marsh County Park and the
Shoreview Commons. The task force recommended that the city of Shoreview and Guidant prepare
conceptual plans on how the band shell could be located within the Shoreview Commons. Once the
conceptual plans are completed, the city and Guidant will be in a better position to determine which site
is more appropriate for the band shell. Public review and comment will then be solicited. On February 7,
the City Council accepted the task force report and authorized proceeding with a more refined plan for
the Shoreview Commons area.
Mr. Straumann mentioned that the grand opening for the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Visitors
Center is February 12 and 13.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon appropriate motion, the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
Cheryl Johnson
