Disk golf course at Ingerson Park <br /> The PTRC gather information on the popularity of disk golf and found it to be increasingly <br /> popular. Therefore, as one of our strategies, we recommend development of a disk golf <br /> course at Ingerson. The estimated cost is $7,500. <br /> 2. Fenced dog park at Parkshore <br /> This currently undeveloped land south of Round Lake would well-serve those who need a <br /> place to run their dogs off-leash. Staff estimates the cost of this development at$15,000. <br /> 3. Improve warming house conditions at Freeway Park and Hazelnut Park. <br /> These parks see increased use during the winter months and the current warming houses are <br /> inadequate. We recommend utilizing mobile units. However, we realize that many options <br /> are available. At a minimum, the current warming houses at these two sites need to be <br /> repaired or rebuilt. Improve the condition of Valentine Park. <br /> The park floods every spring clue to the fact that it is at a lower elevation than Lake <br /> Valentine. The play structure,warming house, and baseball field are routinely flooded. <br /> Replacement of the play structure has been delayed several times due to these issues. We <br /> recommend that options be explored to improve the existing conditions for future park use. <br /> 5. Bocce ball courts,bocce golf, and a BNa bike course. <br /> The PTRC gathered information on the growing popularity of bocce ball,bocce golf, and <br /> BMX bike courses and found them to be increasing in popularity. Therefore,as one of our <br /> Strategies,we recommend investigating opportunities for development of these type of <br /> courses within our parks. <br /> STRATEGIES FOR TRAILS <br /> Trail development has lagged behind our investment in park facilities for a number of years. The <br /> • PTRC recommends development of an arterial or"core"trail system that provides access to all <br /> areas of the community and in addition,provides badly needed access to the trail systems in <br />
