AGENDA <br />PARKS, TRAILS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2000, 7:00 P.M. <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />4364 W. ROUND LAKE ROAD <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />DRAFT <br />Vice Chairperson, Don Messerly, called the August 22, 2000 meeting of the Parks, Trails and <br />Recreation Committee to order at 7:15 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Members present were Rich Straumann; Don Messerly; Don Tix; and Steve Zilmer; with Jim <br />Johnson arriving at 7:24 p.m.; and Patrick Krenn arriving at 7:30 p.m. <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />Members absent were Louis Speggen; Jim Crassweller; and David Grant, Council Liaison. <br />OTHERS PRESENT <br />Others present were Tom Moore, Parks and Recreation Director; Michelle Olson, Recreation <br />Program Supervisor; and Sheila Stowell, Recording Secretary. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />The Agenda was approved by consensus. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes of the June 27, 2000 meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />AGENDA ITEMS <br />Committee members noted the renaming of the committee to the Parks, Trails and Recreation <br />Committee. <br />Discussion of Comprehensive Parks, Trails and Recreation Plan <br />Craig Churchward, Manager and Landscape Architect with the firm of Short Elliott Hendrickson, <br />Inc. (SEH) reviewed the credentials of his firm and their expertise related to providing the City <br />with a Comprehensive Parks, Trails and Recreation Plan. <br />Discussion items included future sidewalk installation promotion; and how to involve residents <br />in park improvement discussions. <br />
