3. There are no outfield fences on any of the Fields. On Field #2, there is a wooded area in left <br />field. Play is constantly stopped to retrieve balls hit into this area. On one night this summer, <br />during four games, 14 balls were `lost' in these woods. <br />Summary <br />Adult Softball is an important component of the Arden Hills Recreation Department. From a <br />revenue standpoint, it is the most important component. Since the construction of Perry Park, <br />there has been a steady decline in the number of Adult Softball teams that are participating in the <br />summer league. The results of this Program Evaluation, the first ever given to the summer Adult <br />Softball Program, seem to indicate that the field design at Perry Park may be the reason for this <br />decline. <br />The two major issues with the softball fields at Perry Park are; regulation length and outfield <br />fences. I am confident that if both of these issues are corrected, I will substantially increase the <br />revenue generated by Adult Softball. <br />• <br />
