CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: February 3, 1999 <br />TO: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrat <br />SUBJECT: Various Park Improvement Activities <br />Background <br />At the most recent Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, the Commission discussed <br />potential improvements to Arden Manor Park. The Commission requested additional ideas from <br />staff regarding the various options. <br />The following is intended to give some additional ideas on the use of Arden Manor Park. <br />• <br />BMX Bike Track <br />• <br />Swing Set <br />Baseball Field <br />• • <br />Softball Field <br />• <br />Tennis Court/Tennis Backboard <br />• <br />Sliding Hill <br />• <br />Sandbox Area <br />• <br />Rollerblade Rink <br />• <br />Hockey Rink (boards) (paved or <br />unpaved) <br />• <br />Skating Rink (no boards) <br />I� <br />• Sand Volleyball <br />• Horshoe Pits <br />• Picnic Shelter <br />• Hiking Trails <br />• Soccer Fields <br />• Barbeque Area <br />• Mini Water Park (water toys, etc.) <br />• Playground with cargo nets/structure <br />• Larger theme based playstructure <br />(e.g., Pirate Ship, etc.) <br />Meeting at Arden Manor Mobile Home Park <br />Staff has discussed the use of the storm shelter for the March 16' Parks and Recreation <br />Commission meeting. The manager has indicated that they would allow the City to use the <br />space. The room holds up to 200 people, and should work for the Commission. <br />BF/sls <br />
