9. Day in the Park <br />Tracy reported that the 1999 Day in the Park will be held on Saturday, June 5 at <br />Cummings Park. Ms. Petersen indicated that it may be difficult to have a band at this <br />facility due to the lack of power at the park. She also mentioned that if the commission <br />members had any ideas for activities, to let her know. Anita Larson mentioned the <br />possibility of an old-fashioned theme with pony rides, etc. <br />10. Department Repor <br />Ms. Petersen reported that the department is sponsoring the Vt Annual Mother/Daughter <br />Night Out to help celebrate National Women and Girls in Sports Day. <br />The 1999 Spring Recreation Guide will be out the week of February 15. <br />Other <br />Mr. Fritsinger indicated that the City as a whole needs to decide on its policy for the <br />plowing of trails. He noted that they City needs to discuss its philosophy of having <br />trails available for year-round use. This year, the parks maintenance staff is only plowing <br />segments of trails. <br />11.
