ROUND LAKE ROAD <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairperson Johnson called the June 26, 2001 meeting of the Parks, Trails and <br /> Recreation Committee to order at 7:04 p.m. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT <br /> Members present were Jim Johnson, Don Tix, Jim Crassweller, Rich Straumann, Don <br /> Messerly, Patrick Krenn, Tom Moore, Louis Speggen, Roberta Thompson, Jennie <br /> Michels, Council Liaison Gregg Larson, and Carla Wirth, Recording Secretary. <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT <br /> Member absent was Steve Zilmer. <br /> • APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> The Agenda was approved by consensus. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Crassweller moved and Committee Member <br /> Straumann seconded the motion to approve the May 22, 2001 minutes as <br /> presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> WELCOME NEW MEMBERS <br /> Newly appointed Committee Members Jennie Michels and Roberta Thompson <br /> introduced themselves and stated their interest in serving on the Parks, Trails & <br /> Recreation Committee. The Committee members and Council Liaison Larson each <br /> introduced themselves and welcomed Committee Members Michels and Thompson. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION UPDATES <br /> Mr. Moore reported on the mowing, cutting, and trimming work that is underway, and <br /> caterpillar infestation experienced at two parks. He stated they will ask the University of <br /> Minnesota to view the parks and offer suggestions on the best treatment method. He <br /> • noted the Lindy's Triangle Park backstop has been removed since no activities are <br /> scheduled at that Park. The backstop at Arden Oaks Playground has also been removed <br />
