Call the Recycling & Disposal Hotline <br />at 651.633.3279, answered 24/7. <br />Medicine Collection: Safely dispose of unwanted, expired and unused <br />medicines for free at one of three public drop boxes in Ramsey County <br />(pet medicines included). Safe disposal of unwanted medicine helps prevent <br />crime, drug abuse, and accidental poisoning. Not flushing medicines down <br />the drain or disposing of them in the trash helps protect our environment. <br />Yard Waste and Organics: Ramsey County operates seven YARD <br />WASTE COLLECTION SITES. All sites are free and open to Ramsey <br />County residents only, a photo ID is required. Items accepted vary <br />by site – most yard waste sites have an Organics Recycling bin and the <br />attendant can provide you free compostable bags. <br />Household Hazardous Waste: Many household products you use to <br />clean your kitchen and bathroom, maintain your car and home, and control <br />animals and insects contain hazardous materials. If a container has the <br />words CAUTION, WARNING, DANGER or POISON on the label <br />and still has product inside, it does not belong in the trash. Use Ramsey <br />County’s free household hazardous waste collection sites (open year round) <br />for safe disposal. Energy efficient light bulbs and fluorescent light bulbs <br />belong in the household hazardous waste category. <br />Have a broken item that you wish to fix? Check out the RAMSEY <br />COUNTY FIX-IT CLINICS! Get household items fixed for free and <br />learn valuable repair skills at an upcoming Fix-It Clinic. At Fix-It Clinics, <br />residents bring in small household appliances, clothing, electronics, mobile <br />devices and more to receive free guided assistance from volunteers with <br />repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix items.
