ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – MARCH 14, 2016 2 <br /> <br />the metro area. He discussed how NYFS is partnering with the school districts and youth in <br />distress to improve this situation. <br /> <br />Mr. Hromatka described in detail how the City’s support benefits Arden Hills’ residents and <br />noted that over 45 families were assisted in 2015. He provided an overview of the trends within <br />the community. He explained how NYFS is working to address isolation and trauma, while also <br />improving community connections. The numerous partnerships that have been forged by NYFS <br />were discussed. He stated that he appreciated the City’s continued support and discussed how <br />NYFS is working to enhance its fundraising culture, while continuing to be good stewards of the <br />City’s money. <br /> <br />Miriam Ward, Arden Hills NYFS representative, explained that she has served on the NYFS <br />board for the past three years. She stated that she enjoys her service and is proud of the City of <br />Arden Hills. She reported that 2016 is NYFS’s 40th Anniversary. She appreciated the fact that <br />Land O’Lakes has stepped forward and taken a seat on the NYFS board. She is pleased by the <br />fact that Deluxe is also interested in getting more involved in NYFS. She invited the City Council <br />to participate in the Leadership Luncheon on May 4th and the Mayor’s Golf Challenge on June <br />13th. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant thanked Ms. Ward for her service on NYFS. He appreciated the thorough <br />presentation from Mr. Hromatka as well. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden asked if NYFS was starting to see increased payments from health <br />insurance providers given the fact that more people now have health insurance. <br /> <br />Mr. Hromatka explained that he is seeing that more people have health insurance; however their <br />deductibles are quite high so he is working on a grant to assist with offsetting those payments. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden encouraged Ms. Ward to draft an article for the City newsletter to <br />inform the public of the great work being done by NYFS. <br /> <br />4. STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP) and Joint Development Authority Update <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher stated that responses to the Solicitation for <br />Master Developer were due on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Four proposals were received <br />representing partnerships as follows: <br /> <br />• Alatus, LLC <br />• Kraus-Anderson and Elion Partners <br />• Opus Development Company, LLC and Pulte Homes <br />• Ryan Companies and Lennar Corporation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher indicated that copies of the responses have been <br />distributed to the Solicitation Review Committee.
