DRAFT <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Requests for Proposals <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills is accepting proposals from consultant firms for an update of its <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Arden Hills is a community situated in Ramsey County approximately 8 miles north of the <br />downtown areas of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. The City has an estimated population of 9,600 <br />and over 12,000 employees. The City is home to Boston Scientific, Land O’Lakes, Bethel <br />University and University of Northwestern. Arden Hills boasts convenient freeway access to I- <br />35W, I-694, Highway 51/Snelling, and Highway 10. <br /> <br />Major Responsibilities <br /> <br />Major responsibilities for the consultant firm will include: <br /> <br />• Prepare a Comprehensive Plan Update, as further outlined below. <br /> <br />• Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Metropolitan Council, including <br />early identification of issues and communications with the agency throughout the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update process. <br /> <br />• Attend public meetings to develop the Comprehensive Plan Update, including regular and <br />work session Planning Commission meetings, regular and work session City Council <br />meetings, joint City Council/Planning Commission meetings, Parks, Trails, and <br />Recreation Committee meetings, Economic Development Commission meetings, and <br />meetings to obtain public input, such as neighborhood meetings and open houses. <br /> <br />• Conduct regular meetings with City staff for purposes of coordination, consultation, and <br />input. <br /> <br />• Assemble and coordinate a team of necessary sub-consultants, such as traffic engineers, <br />civil engineers, and market analysts. <br /> <br />• Submit Comprehensive Plan Update application to the Metropolitan Council and see <br />entire review process through Metropolitan Council approval. <br />
