Sue Iverson August 24, 2016 Page 2 Proposed WSB Team Bret Weiss, PE – Client Liaison/Large Project Advisor We are proposing that Bret Weiss, PE, will serve as the Client Liaison and Large Project Advisor for the City of Arden Hills. Bret’s experience of more than 30 years in this industry, 26 years as a city engineer and in leadership with large infrastructure projects and development project review, administration and funding will provide value as the City moves forward with the Rice Creek Commons development. Bret has spent his career as a consulting City Engineer and has an expertise working on large development projects for metro communities. He will actively support our team and will be visible/supportive to the City Council and leadership team. Andy Brotzler, PE – Interim Director of Public Works/City Engineer Andy Brotzler, PE, is proposed to be assigned as the interim Director of Public Works/City Engineer/ for the City of Arden Hills. Andy’s more than 20 years of experience, including 13 years as the full-time contract City Engineer for the City of Rosemount with six years as the Director of Public Works, makes him an experienced candidate and will allow him to immediately step in to this role. During his time with the City of Rosemount, he led a Public Works Department of 26 staff with an annual operating budget of $10 million along with the development and delivery of over $100 million in capital improvement projects. Additionally, Rosemount has been planning the redevelopment of the UMore site, a former Army ammunitions site, during Andy’s tenure. While development has not commenced at this time, Andy has been instrumental throughout the planning and environmental process. Sue Polka, PE – Interim Assistant Director of Public Works/Assistant City Engineer We are proposing to assign Sue Polka, PE, to serve as Assistant Director of Public Works/Assistant City Engineer. Sue has more than 30 years of industry experience having served as both Director of Public Works and City Engineer for communities in Minnesota and most recently served as the Director of Engineering and Capital Projects for a community in Texas where she was responsible for th e management of a $400 million, five-year CIP. Sue will be joining WSB on September 1, 2016 and as such has no current assigned activities at WSB. She will be a strong addition to the Arden Hills team. Hannah Rybak – Staff Planner Hannah has a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional studies and a master’s degree in urban planning. Hannah works closely with the community planning group regarding day-to-day city planning activities. Her attention to detail and efficient research capabilities will provide a critical re source to the completion of any planning assignment. Jim Stremel, PE – Project Manager Jim Stremel is an experienced engineer and will support our team with plan review, project development or any other activities that are necessary to support the engineering and public works departments. Jim has more than 14 years of experience as an engineer supporting municipal clients in all areas. Jim currently serves as the City Engineer for the City of Medina.
