Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The 2017/18 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes an item for the replacement of the 2001 <br />dump truck (Unit 116). A copy of the detailed sheet from the CIP is attached (Attachment A). <br />repair costs for parts and labor between 2003 and 2016 total $16,146. As previously mentioned, <br />parts for the 16-year-old Sterling chassis are no longer available. <br /> <br />The 2017/18 CIP has an estimated budget for the purchase of the new dump truck of $250,000 <br />and a trade in value of $10,000 for a net budget of $240,000 for this purchase. The truck was <br />initially budgeted over two years due to an 18-month build out process. TowMaster has <br />indicated that the truck can be completed in 2017 with and estimated delivery date in October. <br />The pricing quote (Attachment B) shows a purchase price from Nuss Truck & Equipment of <br />$87,808.40, with the $18,000.00 trade-in of the 2001 truck, and 109,544.00 from TowMaster. <br />the total purchase price of the unit is $197,352.40 including tax and licensing, well below the <br />estimated budget.
