ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—APRIL 24, 2017 10 <br /> PLAYGROUND STRUCTURE REPLACEMENT QUOTES <br /> Perry Park Hazelnut Park <br /> Installation $18,434.00 $22,901.78 <br /> Playground Equipment& $45,694.19 $52,098.22 <br /> Swing Set <br /> TOTAL $64,128.19 $75,000.00 <br /> Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka stated the cost for the equipment and installation <br /> for both parks totals $139,128.19. The City will save on shipping costs if both projects can be <br /> ordered and shipped at the same time. The Public Works Department will be removing the <br /> existing equipment and grading both sites. If Council approves the work, installation will take <br /> place in June at Perry Park and August or September at Hazelnut Park after completion of the <br /> summer playground program. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked if this playground had incorporated equipment for seniors. <br /> Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka commented she was not aware of this request but <br /> noted one of the swings would allow for an adult and child to swing together. <br /> Councilmember Holden requested staff investigate this further for the next time the City replaces <br /> a playground structure. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Mayor Grant seconded a motion to <br /> Authorize the purchase and installation of playground structures for Perry <br /> and Hazelnut Parks from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground in the amount of <br /> $139,128.19. The motion carried (5-0). <br /> 9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> 10. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Scott indicated he would be touring the Public Works Department on <br /> Wednesday, May 17th and stated he greatly respected the work completed by the City's Public <br /> Works employees. <br /> Councilmember Scott invited the public to participate in the Scoops for Troops event on Sunday, <br /> April 301h at 10:00 a.m. at the Arden Hills Army Training Center. He noted funds from this event <br /> would be raised for the Fallen Heroes Children's Education Fund. <br /> Councilmember Holmes thanked Roberts Management for being an integral part of the <br /> community and for advertising the Scoops for Troops event. <br />
