Table: Motion to table Planning Case 16-001 for an amendment to Section 1315.01 – Zoning <br />Map of the Arden Hills Zoning Code as presented in the March 9, 2016, Report to the <br />Planning Commission: a specific reason and information request should be included with a <br />motion to table. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br />Notice of the public hearing was published in the Shoreview-Arden Hills Bulletin on February <br />17, 2016, and mailed to all property owners within 500 feet of where the rezoning has been <br />proposed. <br /> <br /> <br />Public Comments <br /> <br />The City received a letter from the Minnesota Department of Administration expressing that they <br />respectfully object to the rezoning of their properties located at 5400 and 5420 Old Highway 8 <br />(Attachment E). At these locations the State operates the driver’s examination station and <br />federal surplus auction. In this case, the proposed rezoning of the property would not create <br />additional nonconformities as the Zoning Code defines the State’s use of these properties as a <br />“Public Use” and a “Public Use” is permitted by Conditional Use Permit (CUP) in the proposed <br />district as well as the existing district. <br /> <br />A phone call from the City of Shoreview was received questioning the list of uses that are either <br />permitted by right or conditional for the Civic Center District and if the City anticipated a change <br />with respect to the users on the site. The City responded to the City of Shoreview by providing <br />the City’s Land Use Chart to indicate the list of approved uses within the district and explaining <br />that the City was not aware of any change to the use of the properties at this time. <br /> <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />A.
