The trash enclosure would be located 2.92 feet from the internal side property line on the <br />western side of the site, but greater than 10 feet from all other property lines. <br /> <br />Section 1325 – General Regulations <br /> <br />A. Landscaping - Section 1325.05, Subdivision 1 <br /> <br />Minimum Caliper Inches <br />The Zoning Code requires that a minimum number of caliper inches be provided based on the <br />gross square footage of the building. The number of caliper inches is calculated by dividing the <br />gross square footage by 320. In this case, 14.8 caliper inches of trees are required for the site. <br />The Landscape Plan includes 13 new tree plantings for a total of 42.5 caliper inches. <br /> <br />Perennials and Shrubberies <br />The Zoning Code requires that at least ten percent of the total landscape lot area be covered with <br />perennials and/or shrubbery. A total of 778 square feet of plantings is required based on this <br />provision. The applicant has proposed 1,160 square feet of perennial plantings, or 14.9 percent of <br />the landscape lot area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Planting Islands <br />The Zoning Code requires that ten percent of a surface parking area be occupied by planting <br />islands that include a minimum of one tree planting. Parking islands must be at least 150 square <br />feet in size. The Landscape Plan indicates that 15 percent of the parking lot area would be <br />occupied by planting islands. Each planting area includes a minimum of one tree. <br /> <br />B. Lighting – Section 1325.05, Subdivision 3 <br /> <br />The Zoning Code requires lighting to be arranged to direct light away from adjacent lots and <br />public streets.
