City of Arden Hills <br />Planning Commission Meeting for February 8, 2017 <br />P:\Planning\Department Records\Quarterly & Year End Reports\2016 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: February 8, 2017 PC Agenda Item 5.A <br />TO: Planning Commission Chair Thompson and Commissioners <br />FROM: Matthew Bachler, Senior Planner <br />SUBJECT: 2016 Planning Commission Year-End Report <br />Summary <br />The purpose of this memo is to provide the Planning Commission with a summary of the <br />planning activities for 2016. The following is a list of the main accomplishments completed over <br />the past year: <br />•Reviewed and processed 32 planning cases that included 44 separate land use requests <br />•Processed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, TCAAP Redevelopment Code, and <br />TCAAP Regulating Plan related to the proposed Master Development Plan for the 427- <br />acre former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant site <br />•City approved four City Code amendments, including amendments that addressed mobile <br />residential homes and speed restrictions on Lake Johanna <br />Planning and Zoning Activities <br />The City reviewed and processed 32 planning cases that included 44 separate land use requests <br />in 2016. Three of these planning cases are still pending. In comparison, the City reviewed 25 <br />planning cases with 38 different land use requests in 2015, and 36 planning cases with 44 <br />different land use requests in 2014. The following chart displays the number of planning requests <br />by type and their outcome for 2016:
