Feasibility Report Pavement Management Program 2018 Street and Utility Improvement Project City of Arden Hills Project No. 18-STR-065 WSB Project No. R-010111-000 Page 5 A copy of the soil boring records and location map prepared for this project by WSB & Associates, Inc., dated August 2017, may be found in Appendix D of this feasibility report. 2.2.2 Sanitary Sewer The existing sanitary sewer system in the project area consists of 8-inch-diameter polyvinyl chloride pipe (PVC), 8-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP), and 12-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). The existing sanitary sewer was televised and found to be in fair condition with few cracks or sags in the pipes along most streets. The sanitary sewer along Indian Oaks Trail is 12-inch RCP and is exhibiting signs of inflow and infiltration (I/I) along cracks in the main pipe and at service connections. The 8-inch VCP sanitary sewer on Indian Oaks Court is also experiencing I/I, based on the televising information. 2.2.3 Water Main Per City record drawings, the existing water main in the project area consists of 6, 8, and 12-inch-diameter ductile iron pipe (DIP) installed when the road was originally constructed. There is a history of water main breaks and corrosion of the bolts of the water main fittings in the proposed project area. A summary of the water main is shown in Table 2. Settlements in some areas of the curb and gutter result in standing water after rain events.
