Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2018 Fee Schedule <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council annually establishes a fee schedule for administrative, building construction, <br />liquor licensing, copying of maps and ordinances, park and recreation facility usage, planning <br />and zoning, utilities, business licenses, false alarms, utility fees, and other miscellaneous permits <br />and penalties that are enforced by the City. <br /> <br />Below is a recap of the fee schedule changes in 2017 as well as those changes in 2016: <br /> <br />Changes in 2017: <br /> Building permit reinspection fee and fire protection permit reinspection fee increased <br />from $40.00 to $63.25 per Minnesota State Statute 326B.153 <br /> Language was updated to indicate the State Surcharge (based on valuation) and fees for <br />building permits and fire protection permits was to be based according to the 2016 State <br />Statute 326B.153 <br /> Implementation of a tree contractor registration/license <br /> Increase to community garden plot fees from $36.00 plus applicable tax to $38.00 plus <br />applicable tax for one plot, and from $18.00 plus applicable tax to $19.00 plus applicable <br />tax for an additional (second) plot <br /> Addition of an administrative permit for commercial outdoor display and sales areas in <br />the amount of $100.00 <br /> Zoning Permit language was modified to include decks under 30”, driveways, fences, <br />sheds and temporary structures <br /> Increased utility rates by 2% <br /> Increased surface water charges by 3% <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM – 1D <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
