League of Minnesota Cities Model Contract: 10/10/2016 <br />Public W Employment Agreement Page 1 <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills, Minnesota <br />Employment Agreement <br /> <br />AGREEMENT made this _______ day of _______, 20_______, by and between the <br />CITY OF Arden Hills, a Minnesota municipal corporation ("Employer"), and Susan Polka <br />("Employee"). <br /> <br />The parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. POSITION. Employer agrees to employ Employee as its Public Works <br />Director/City Engineer. Employee agrees to serve as Public Works Director/City Engineer in <br />accordance with state statutes, City ordinances and the Code of Ethics of the International and <br />Minnesota City/County Management Associations, and to perform such other legally permissible <br />and proper duties and functions as the City Council shall from time to time assign. <br /> <br />2. PENSION PLAN. Employer shall contribute to PERA as required by State law <br />for Employee. <br /> <br /> <br />3. SALARY. Employer shall pay Employee a salary equivalent of a Grade 20, Step <br />9, ($118,353.20 per year or as adjusted by any COLA increase) starting January 1, 2018. <br />Employer and Employee agree that an initial performance review will be conducted on <br />Employee after six (6) months and annually thereafter. The Employee will receive annual <br />COLA increases received by all staff as determined by the Employer. <br /> <br /> <br />4. SENIORITY. For purposes of employment benefits such as personal time off, <br />and the like, Employee will be credited with having completed 20 years of employment with the <br />City upon his/her first day of employment. <br /> <br /> <br />5. PERSONAL TIME OFF. Effective upon Employee's first day of employment, <br />Employee shall be credited with 2 weeks of accrued personal time off. In addition, Employee <br />shall accrue personal time off in accordance with the City's personnel policies. <br /> <br /> <br />6. HOLIDAYS. Employer shall provide Employee the same holidays as enjoyed by <br />other non-union employees. <br /> <br /> <br />7. GENERAL INSURANCE. Employer shall provide Employee the same group <br />hospital, medical, dental, life and disability insurance benefits as provided to all other non-union <br />employees. <br /> <br />
