<br />CONSENT ITEM – 7E <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 14, 2018 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Matthew Bachler, City Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Resolution 2018-033 – Appointment of Paul Vijums as a Regular Member of the <br />Planning Commission <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2018-033 appointing Paul Vijums as a regular member of the <br />Planning Commission with a term expiration of December 31, 2020. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Arden Hills Planning Commission has seven regular members, plus two named alternates <br />who can sit as voting members when a regular member must be absent. One of the regular <br />members positions is currently vacant. <br /> <br />Paul Vijums, an Arden Hills resident, has submitted an application to serve on the Planning <br />Commission. An interview panel consisting of Council Liaison Steve Scott, Chair Roberta <br />Thompson, and City Planner Matthew Bachler interviewed Mr. Vijums on May 3, 2018. After <br />reviewing the interview panel’s recommendation, Mayor Grant recommends appointing Mr. <br />Dixon to the Planning Commission for a three-year term expiring on December 31, 2020. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />A.
