Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6H <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: August 13, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/ City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Harriet Avenue Overlay <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $200,000 $53,235 Streets Operating Budget <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Authorize staff to purchase materials and equipment rental for the Harriet Avenue overlay <br />project in the amount of $53,235. <br /> <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />The 2018 Streets Operating budget includes $200,000 for resurfacing streets, including <br />sealcoating and the annual overlay completed by staff. To date, Council has authorized the <br />expenditure of $69,405 for the seal coating and crack sealing project. <br /> <br />Staff is proposing to complete a mill and overlay project on Harriet Avenue. The current <br />pavement condition index (PCI) is 1. Staff has solicited quotes for bituminous materials and <br />equipment rentals totaling $53,235 and is requesting Council approval to proceed with the <br />project.
