ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – JULY 23, 2018 5
8. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS
None.
9. PUBLIC HEARINGS
None.
10. NEW BUSINESS
None.
11. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Terminate WSB Engineering Services Contract
City Administrator Perrault stated the City Council tabled this item from the July 9, 2018 City
Council meeting for future discussion. If City Council directs staff to terminate this contract, that
is sufficient authority, staff will not need a resolution or signature from the City Council.
Councilmember Holden asked if the posting had been extended.
City Administrator Perrault reported the posting had been extended one week. He noted the
City has received three applications to date.
Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka stated she would like the City Council to wait to
terminate the WSB contract until interviews are conducted. She noted she spoke with Andy
Brotzler of WSB and explained he would be flexible with the City regarding a future termination
date.
Councilmember McClung stated given the number of applicants and the fact that the application
deadline had been extended, he was not comfortable moving forward with this item. He
recommended this item be postponed for one month.
Councilmember Holden recommended this item not return to the City Council until the City
Administrator, Mayor and Public Works Director make a determination.
Councilmember Scott asked what the new deadline was for the job posting.
Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka stated the new deadline was Friday, July 27.
MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a
motion to table action on this item to a time when the City Administrator,
Public Works Director and Mayor determines.
