ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – JULY 23, 2018 6 <br />City Planner Bachler reported his last day with the City would be Thursday, August 9. He <br />indicated he has enjoyed his time with the City and its residents. He explained he would be <br />moving to a small town in New Hampshire where he would be working as a Community <br />Development Director. He noted this move would allow him to be closer to family. <br />Councilmember Scott stated he appreciated City Planner Bachler’s service to the City and <br />wished him well in his move. He commended staff for achieving Step 2 in the GreenStep Cities <br />program and for achieving three distinguished budgeting awards from the MGFOA. <br />Councilmember Scott thanked the Public Works Department staff for properly repairing the <br />landscaping that was disturbed during a recent sewer line repair. <br />Councilmember McClung thanked Finance Director Bauman and her staff for their great work <br />on behalf of the City. He wished City Planner Bachler all the best and thanked him for his <br />thoughtful service to the community. <br />Councilmember Holmes congratulated the Finance Department for their efforts. She indicated <br />the City would greatly miss City Planner Bachler and wished him well in his new venture. <br />Councilmember Holmes reported the Penny Carnival would be held on Friday, July 27 from 1:00 <br />p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Perry Park. She noted Bark and Rec would be held on Saturday, July 28 from <br />1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Perry Park. <br />Councilmember Holmes stated she would be serving on the League of Minnesota Cities Policy <br />Committee. <br />Councilmember Holden commented she attended Hot Dog with a Deputy on Wednesday, July <br />11. She noted this was a well-attended event at Perry Park. <br />Councilmember Holden requested the Council discuss the City’s investment policy with Finance <br />Director Bauman at a future worksession meeting. <br />Councilmember Holden thanked City Planner Bachler for all of his efforts on behalf of the City <br />and wished him well in his move. <br />Mayor Grant stated City Planner Bachler and his professionalism would be greatly missed. He <br />wished City Planner Bachler well in his move to New England. <br />Mayor Grant congratulated staff and the City Council for achieving the Step 2 GreenStep Cities <br />award. He also commended the Finance Department for their efforts and for receiving three <br />distinguished awards from the MGFOA. <br />Mayor Grant explained he attended the Hot Dog with a Deputy event and thanked all who were <br />in attendance. He stated this was a great community event. <br />Mayor Grant requested an update from staff regarding the upcoming election deadlines.
