ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—AUGUST 27, 2018 5 <br /> 11. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> 12. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Scott welcomed David Swearingen as the City's new Senior Engineering Tech. <br /> Councilmember Scott stated he attended the ribbon cutting ceremony last Tuesday for the Ralph <br /> Reeder Food Shelf which relocated to Mounds View. <br /> Councilmember Scott reported AHATS would be having an Open House on Saturday, <br /> September 8, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. He invited the public to attend this community <br /> event. <br /> Councilmember McClung asked if the City had any concerns with State Fair parking this year. <br /> He stated he had not had any complaints to date. <br /> City Administrator Perrault commented he had not received any complaints but noted he could <br /> speak with Director Polka regarding this concern. <br /> Councilmember Holmes questioned if the State of the City topics had been distributed. <br /> City Clerk Hanson reported staff was still seeking comments from the Council as to which topics <br /> each Councilmember would like to cover at the State of the City event. <br /> Mayor Grant commented historically he covers TCAAP. Further discussion ensued regarding <br /> the items that would be addressed at the State of the City. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated the Taste of Northwest event would be held on Thursday, <br /> October 11, 2018, at the Vadnais Heights Commons. <br /> Councilmember Holden reported HealthPartners would be holding a Family Fun Fest on <br /> Saturday, September 15, 2018, at their location in Arden Hills. <br /> Mayor Grant noted the primary was now over and residents could no longer file for City offices. <br /> He asked for an update from the City Clerk on the local elections. <br /> City Clerk Hanson explained the City currently had four candidates running for office, Mayor <br /> Grant, Councilmember Fran Holmes, Councilmember Steve Scott and newcomer Greg <br /> Rubenstein. She noted the Communications Coordinator has reached out to the candidates for a <br /> profile that will be included in the City's October newsletter. <br /> Mayor Grant expressed concerns about the No Parking signs along Chatham Avenue. He noted <br /> these signs have black bags around them that have been secured with tape. <br />
