Recommendations <br />Continue producing, printing and mailing a print version of the <br />newsletter <br />And Develop an e-letter version by posting news alerts and collating items <br />into an html email with active web links. Email weekly to residents. <br />Develop, promote and regularly send e-news alerts related to <br />emergency notices, road construction, public works projects (i.e. hydrant <br />flushing, plowing), development projects. <br />This requires list management and permission-based marketing, as well as <br />the ability to notify by geographic area in a timely manner. <br />Develop calendar of annual public works maintenance projects and <br />communicate about these via email and social media. <br />Requires prior knowledge of public works activities. <br />Post more information to Facebook Create links back to website news alerts. <br />Consider additional informational mailers to residents. Audit what is <br />currently postmarked (i.e. postcards, flyers, construction newsletters, <br />utility bill inserts). <br />Although 30 percent of older respondents indicate they use a computer <br />to access news, more than 50 percent do not use a computer. Are we <br />reaching them with timely news? <br />Develop a City page on the neighborhood social networking app called <br />Nextdoor. <br />Although this wasn’t in the survey,there are numerous residents on social <br />neighborhood networks. This could greatly increase the visibility of the <br />City’s messages and drive outreach with residents.
