City of Arden Hills
Planning Commission Meeting for April 3, 2019
P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2019\19-003 Bethel Sci Addition - SP\Memos Reports

F. Drainage Wetlands and Flood Plain – Section 1325.05 Subd. 2
The site plan includes a stormwater pollution prevention plan. The proposed addition will increase
impervious surface coverage from about 6,970 square feet to 11,200 square feet in the project area.
10,475 square feet of the new addition will require mitigation, as these changes are will increase
the amount of stormwater runoff. There is currently no stormwater management on the site.

The proposed stormwater management system for the project, a filtration basin as shown above,
will be located south of the project area, near the west parking lot. The filtration basin will greatly
improve stormwater management and capacity on site. To accommodate the improved basin
design, some of the existing volunteer trees and shrubs located in the existing basin will be
removed. One tree on the opposite side of the street will be removed as shown on the image below.
Plantings in the proposed basin includes native grasses and prairie seed mix.
