RICE CREEK NORTH REGIONAL TRAIL MASTER PLAN | 12 <br />` <br />Metropolitan Council Studies indicate that 1/2 of regional trail users live within 3/4 mile of a trail (the core service <br />area) and 3/4 live within 3 miles of the trail (the primary service area). As shown in Table 2 , the communities <br />surrounding the Rice Creek North Regional Trail Corridor are all anticipated to increase between now and 2040 <br />EXISTING CONDITIONS <br />BOUNDARIES AND ACQUISITION COSTS <br />The Rice Creek North Regional Trail forms links to the regional parks and trails system at its northern boundary <br />with the Rice Creek North Regional Trail and East Anoka County Regional Trail. At the southern border the trail <br />corridor forms links to the regional parks and trails system with Long Lake Regional Park and the Rice Creek West <br />Regional Trail. <br />Future acquisition is proposed for the trail corridor when properties become available. A summary of potential <br />properties includes: <br />Adjacent Residential <br />At this time no residential properties bordering the Rice Creek <br />North Regional Trail are available. Future acquisition is proposed for <br />adjacent properties along with open space expansion for inclusion <br />into Rice Creek North Regional Trail when properties become <br />available. Master planning activities would be required to determine <br />potential recreation uses for any acquisition or expansion. <br />MnDOT Arden Hills Training Center and Truck Station <br />Ramsey County Parks & Recreation has an interest in acquiring the <br />land currently housing the MnDot Arden Hills Training Center and <br />Truck Station if that land ever becomes available. The land is located <br />south of County Road I and is bound on the other three sides by the <br />Rice Creek North Regional Trail.
