Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS – 8A <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: July 8 , 2019 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Julie Hanson Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing – Tobacco Ordinance Amendment <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $ $ $ <br /> <br />Council Should Consider the Following <br />Hold a Public Hearing regarding a potential amendment to the City’s tobacco ordinance. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Council voted to amend the tobacco ordinance at its March 25, 2019 regular City Council <br />meeting. For reference, previous Council discussions regarding tobacco occurred at its August <br />2018, October 2018, January 2019, and May 2019 work sessions. The Council also received <br />public comments at the November 13, 2018, and March 25, 2019 public hearings. <br /> <br />The draft ordinance will be discussed under the New Business agenda item (see item 9A with <br />attachments) and consideration of a formal vote regarding this proposed ordinance amendment <br />will take place under that action item. <br /> <br />The purpose of this public hearing is to provide the opportunity for further public comment <br />regarding amending language pertaining to prohibited sales so that restriction of the sale of <br />flavored products would not apply to any licensee whose total annual sales volume of licensed <br />products is 90% or more whose license was in existence on or before March 25, 2019. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br />N/A
