ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—JUNE 10, 2019 6 <br /> Councilmember Holden recommended the City speak to the League of Minnesota Cities to see if <br /> there would be additional funding available to assist with the expense of the upcoming changes. <br /> Councilmember McClung indicated the City was not alone in facing the upcoming changes. He <br /> noted all municipalities would be addressing the new requirements. <br /> Interim Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka explained the City was in a good place as <br /> it has been working proactively to address its stormwater ponds. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br /> motion to adopt Resolution 2019-020 - awarding the Colleen Avenue Drainage <br /> Improvements to Pember Companies in the amount of$250,247.00. <br /> Councilmember Holden commented she could support this project if the City does not complete <br /> the Karth Lake retaining wall this year and deletes the stormwater pond maintenance for 2019. <br /> Councilmember McClung recommended his motion be amended to direct staff to take money <br /> from stormwater maintenance and the Karth Lake retaining wall project to fund the Colleen <br /> Avenue Drainage Improvements, with the remainder of the funds to be discussed by the Council <br /> at an upcoming worksession meeting. <br /> Councilmember Holmes supported this friendly amendment. <br /> The motion carried (5-0). <br /> 10. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> 11. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Scott stated he needed an alternate to attend the Ramsey County League of <br /> Local Government meeting on Thursday, June 13 at the Shoreview Community Center. An <br /> alternate was not available. <br /> Councilmember Scott stated the Shoreview/Arden Hills Lions had a Kids Gala in April. He <br /> explained he and his wife attended this event at the Shoreview Community Center and noted the <br /> event was very well attended. <br /> Councilmember Scott noted it was recently National Public Works Week and thanked the Public <br /> Works Department for all of their efforts on behalf of the community. <br /> Councilmember Scott explained on Wednesday, May 29 he attended the Hot Dog with a Deputy <br /> event. <br />
