The plant is part of <br />International Paper Company, one <br />of the world's leading producers <br />of fiber-based packaging, pulp and <br />paper. <br />Three things to know <br />1) The facility converts rolls of <br />kraft or white linerboard and <br />medium into flat sheets for further <br />processing on a machine called <br />a Corrugator. From there, seven <br />pieces of converting equipment <br />convert the flat sheets into boxes <br />of all shapes and sizes, from small <br />shipping boxes to jumbo sized <br />boxes able to hold a refrigerator or <br />large piece of furniture. The process <br />involves printing, cutting, folding, <br />gluing and stacking – all in one <br />pass from start to finish. <br />2) The facility has more than <br />1,000 different specifications that <br />are produced regularly. No job is <br />identical and every day is different <br />in the box plant. <br />3) The Arden Hills location services <br />many of the top box users in the <br />industry. Customers come from <br />many diverse industries such as <br />food packaging, furniture and <br />window manufacturers, dry goods <br />shippers, electronics manufacturers, <br />chemical manufacturers and many <br />others. <br />The plant operates 24 hours a day, <br />five days per week. It opened in <br />1969 and currently employees 104 <br />people.
