Coordinates and maintains easement and agreement files and city -owned property records. <br />Assists with tracking, inspections, testing and reporting for drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer <br />utilities. <br />Assists with the City's MS4 Stormwater Permit data collection and recording. <br />Assists in the preparation of and performs clerical duties pertaining to City Council agendas, memorandums, <br />resolutions and background research and reports. <br />Assists in the creation, implementation, and record keeping of volunteer groups. <br />Assist, and/or back up, other departments as needed. <br />Performs other duties as assigned. <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />High school diploma or GED with coursework in business, or related field and moderate experience in <br />technical training, IT, office support, word processing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. <br />Three to five years of previous administrative support experience in a municipal setting is preferred. <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />General knowledge of the functions and activities of the City; general knowledge of standard office and customer <br />service procedures; ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, <br />policies, and regulations, ordinances, codes, contracts, and procedure manuals; ability to make arithmetic <br />computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages; <br />ability to prepare reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability <br />to understand and follow written and oral directions; ability to operate standard office equipment including related <br />hardware and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the <br />general public. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, using <br />hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally <br />requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; <br />vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is <br />required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written <br />or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no <br />exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, <br />light traffic). <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Specific job-related software training. <br />SELECTION GUIDELINES <br />Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; job related tests may <br />be required.
