City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy'_` Effective February 29, 2016 <br />ri` 1 ILN HILLS Amended December- ' n October 28 2019 <br />the City's overall government policies. The City reserves the right to monitor and/or log <br />all network activity with or without notice, including all web site communications, and <br />therefore, users should have no expectations of privacy in the use of these resources. Use <br />of the system in violation of this or other City policies is prohibited and may lead to <br />disciplinary action, up to and including termination. <br />Uses that are acceptable and encouraged: <br />1. Communications and information exchanges directly relating to the mission <br />and work tasks of the City; <br />2. Announcements of City procedures, meetings, policies, services, or activities; <br />3. Use for advisory, standards, research, analysis, professional development or <br />development activities directly related to the user's City job-related duties; <br />4. Use in applying for or administering grants or contracts for City programs <br />and activities. <br />Uses that are unacceptable: It is unacceptable for a user to access, use the City's email or <br />internet systems in a manner that: <br />1. Violates the City's policies, rules, or administrative orders; <br />2. Violates or infringes on the rights of any other person, including the right to <br />privacy without authorized permission; <br />3. Includes the sending of unreasonably large email attachments. The total size <br />of an individual email message sent or received (including an attachment) <br />must be 50 Mb or less (unless authorized by the Dire tei= of ° a.._..:~:.,w,.f:-_„ <br />Sefv4eeF,City Administrator, or their designee, or IT); <br />4. Involves opening email attachments from ttekow-nunknown or unsigned <br />sources. Attachments are the primary source of computer viruses and should <br />be treated with utmost caution. <br />4: <br />5. Involves sharing email account passwords with another person, or attempting <br />to obtain another person's email account password. Email accounts are only <br />to be used by the registered user. <br />6. Excessive personal use of the City mail resources.
