City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy <br />Effective February 29, 2016 <br />Amended October 28, 2019 <br />PUBLIC EMPLOYEE'S RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION (PERA) <br />The city participates in the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) to provide <br />pension benefits for its eligible employees to help plan for a successful and secure retirement. <br />Participation in PERA is mandatory for most employees, and contributions into PERA <br />begin immediately. The city and the employee contribute to PERA each pay period as <br />determined by state law. Employees are also required to contribute a portion of each pay <br />check for Social Security and Medicare (the city matches the employee's Social Security <br />and Medicare withholding).
