22.1 Effective January 1, 2013, the EMPLOYER will contribute the same dollar contribution as <br />approved for non-union employees to the Operating Engineers, Local 49 Health and Welfare <br />Administrators for Group Health and Dental Insurance. This dollar amount will be equivalent to the <br />dollar amount received by non-union employees on a family insurance plan, as long as, the union <br />plan remains a family plan. If the Union were to offer a single insurance plan, then the dollar <br />amount would match the total single insurance dollar contribution for non-union employees for <br />those union employees electing the single plan, the family contribution would remain the same. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At no point will the City’s contribution exceed the cost of the Union’s monthly insurance, if the <br />monthly premium is less than the City contribution the City will contribute the lesser amount. <br />22.2 Employees may participate, at their own expense, in additional life, short-term, and long- <br />term disability insurance as an add-ons to City sponsored plans approved under the <br />EMPLOYER'S current insurance provider. <br /> <br /> <br />22.3 It is understood that the EMPLOYER'S only obligation is to pay the EMPLOYER <br />contribution for group insurance premiums as agreed to herein. The EMPLOYER is not liable for <br />claims as a result of a denial of insurance benefits by an insurance carrier. <br />22.2 In the event that an employee resigns, retires, or is otherwise separated from employment <br />for any reason, the EMPLOYER will deduct from the employee's final paycheck the EMPLOYER- <br />paid portion of the group insurance premium for the remainder of the quarter following the <br />employee's date of separation from employment. <br />ARTICLE XXIII — HOLIDAYS <br />23.1 The EMPLOYER will provide twelve (12) paid holidays as follows: <br />Holiday <br />New Year’s Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Presidents' Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veterans Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Thanksgiving Day Day After <br />Christmas Eve Day <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve Day <br />Observance Day <br />January 1 <br />Third Monday in January <br />Third Monday in February <br />Last Monday in May <br />July 4 <br />First Monday in September <br />November 11 <br />Fourth Thursday in November <br />Fourth Friday in November <br />December 24 <br />December 25 <br />December 31
