Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />DATE: January 13, 2020 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Todd Blomstrom, Interim Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Old Snelling Trail and Watermain Improvements - Payment No. 9, Change <br />Order No. 6, and Change Order No. 7 <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$3,376,269.85 <br />(contract only) $4,332,767.09 MSAS, PIR, Water Utility, Ramsey <br />County <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />The City Council is requested to approve the following items for the Old Snelling Trail and <br />Watermain Improvements project: <br /> Payment No. 9 in the amount of $178,235.28 <br /> Change Order No. 6 in the amount of $31,281.70 <br /> Change Order No. 7 in the amount of $2,426.50 <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />On March 26, 2018, the City Council adopted Resolution 2018-022 Awarding the Old Snelling <br />Trail and Watermain Improvements Project to Sunram Construction, Inc. in the amount of <br />$3,376,269.85. The project is considered substantially complete. City staff and the project <br />consultant, WSB, are working with the contractor to resolve remaining construction claims. <br /> <br />Change Order No. 6 provides payment for additional curb and traffic control work. During <br />construction, a total of twenty-one additional storm sewer catch basin structures were added to <br />the project resulting in extra work by the contractor to install concrete curb. This change order <br />also includes costs for additional temporary traffic control measures required to maintain traffic <br />through the project area. Change Order No. 7 provides payment for repairs to a section of fence <br />that was damaged over the winter when work was not occurring by the contractor.
