Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />DATE: January 21, 2020 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Todd Blomstrom, Interim Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Karth Lake Pump and Control Cabinet <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Sources: <br /> $13,002.00 $13,002.00 KLID <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />City Council direction is requested regarding replacement of the Karth Lake pump and repairs to <br />the control cabinet based on a recommendation from the Karth Lake Improvement District <br />Board. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />At the November 18, 2019 work session, the City Council discussed funding for replacement of <br />the pump and repairs to the control cabinet for Karth Lake. The Council directed staff to work <br />with the Karth Lake Improvement District Board to consider a proposal for the Improvement <br />District to fund the full cost of the replacement pump and repairs (or replacement) of the <br />associated control cabinet, and the City would address the failing retaining wall adjacent to the <br />control panel. <br /> <br />On December 11, 2019, the Karth Lake Improvement District Board discussed four options to <br />repair the pump and control cabinet based on price quotation information obtained by City staff. <br />Electric Pump Company had previously inspected the project site and provided cost information <br />as provided in Attachment A. <br /> <br />Option 1: Replace Pump and Retrofit Existing Control Cabinet $13,002.00 <br />Replace submersible pump and update the existing cabinet with the required phase convertor to <br />run the new pump.
