At its December 16, 2019 meeting, the City Council
discussed hosting a citywide recycling event. At that time, the City Council directed staff to
contact our existing recycling provider Republic Sanitation Services and inquire if they offer
Cleanup day or curbside bulk recycling services.
Republic responded that they do not offer bulk-curbside recycling services. However, they do
offer and operate drop site recycling events, similar to previous cleanup days. Attachment A is
Republics drop site preliminary bid. The bid does not include costs for bulk item, small electronics
or console TVs as the price is determined by weight collected. Due to timing, Republic would not
be able to host an event until late summer or early fall
The city currently has $21,000 budgeted for 2020 cleanup day (Attachment B). If Council selects
to host a cleanup day, staff will do a deep dive into hosting an event and present findings at a future
workshop session.
Cleanup Day Discussion:

Staff is looking for Council direction in regards to cleanup day.

1. Should staff proceed with Republics bid and move into planning and coordination phase?
