City of Arden Hills City Council Meeting for February 24, 2020 P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2019\19-021 - Brausen - APUD Page 4 of 4 Deadline for Agency Actions The City of Arden Hills received the completed application for this request on December 24, 2019. The City provided the petitioner with written extension for an additional 60-day review period on February 17, 2020. The reason for the extension was because the next available City Council meeting was outside of the 60 day window. The extended review period ends on April 17, 2020. With consent of the applicant, the City may extend the review period beyond the initial 120 days. Notice and Public Comments A public hearing notice was published in the Pioneer Press on January 25, 2020. Staff has not received any letters, e-mails, or telephone calls from property owners or residents in regards to this planning case. Under Section 1355.06 subd.4, an application for an amendment shall be administered in the same manner as required for a new application. Provided, however, that when such changes are deemed to be insignificant by the Zoning Administrator, the requirements of a public hearing may be waived. The material changes are deemed insignificant as the pre-cast material has been previously reviewed by council and is located on the least publicly visible sections of the proposed building. The south side of the building faces a wooded landscaped area belonging to Bethel University. The east side of the building faces neighboring businesses. However, the majority of the existing tree screening/buffer between the site and the eastern neighbor will be maintained, minimizing the appearance of the building. Budget Impact NA Attachments A.
