Parks and Recreation Opportunities – Summer 2020

Parks and Recreation staff have been working on a safe way to offer activities to the residents of Arden
Hills. These classes would offer participants an opportunity to get out and play at Cummings Park. Each
class and the modifications that would need to be made are listed below.

Tennis:
Each Participant would be given a sleeve of new tennis balls. Participants would color or decorate the
sleeve of balls to make their own at the first class. Participants would only be allowed to touch their own
balls during the tennis session. Participants would be spread out on both sides of the tennis courts
allowing for proper social distancing. The instructor would be able to demonstrate different skills to the
participants at a safe distance. Gloves would be recommended for participants and instructors during
class time. A more detailed list is below.
PREPARING TO PLAY
• Protect against infections:
o Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer), or use a
hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available, before going to the court.
o Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles.
