ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – APRIL 27, 2020 2 <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />A. Proclamation Recognizing May 17-23, 2020 as National Public Works Week <br /> <br />Mayor Grant read a proclamation in full for the record declaring May 17 through May 23 to be <br />National Public Works Week in the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion to <br />approve the Proclamation Recognizing May 17-23, 2020 as National Public <br />Works Week. A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously (4- <br />0). <br /> <br />B. Proclamation Recognizing May 10-16, 2020 as National Police Week <br /> <br />Mayor Grant read a proclamation in full for the record declaring May 10 through May 16 to be <br />National Police Week in the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a motion to <br />approve the Proclamation Recognizing May 10-16, 2020 as National Police <br />Week. A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />5. STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP) and Joint Development Authority (JDA) Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Perrault provided an update on TCAAP stating litigation with Ramsey <br />County was ongoing. <br /> <br />B. COVID-19 Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Perrault provided the Council with a COVID-19 update. He encouraged <br />residents to visit the City’s website for the most current and up to date information regarding <br />COVID-19. He reported the Minnesota Department of Health and CDC also had websites with <br />current guidelines and recommendations. He explained the City of Arden Hills remains in a <br />peacetime state of emergency and City Hall will remain closed until Monday, May 4 pending <br />future direction from the Governor and City Council. He noted that a special work session was <br />scheduled for April 30th to discuss any additional guidance from the Governor’s office, and that <br />updated information would be available following the work session on the City’s website. <br /> <br />C. Transportation Update <br /> <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Blomstrom reported work had begun on the I-35W <br />MnPASS project. He noted this was the second year of the three year project. He explained most <br />work was completed on the southbound lanes and work would focus on the center portion of the <br />corridor and median, along with construction of the noise walls. He explained MnDOT has a <br />video available for residents to view regarding this project and a link to this video was available <br />on the City’s website.
