<br />-Staff is getting a quote on having a permanent barrier installed at the front-desk (there is a <br />currently a temporary plexi-glass barrier). If a barrier is to remain longer-term, staff would <br />recommend a professional installation. The City of Maplewood had a similar barrier and <br />microphones installed for approximately $1,000. Note, a permanent barrier is recommended by <br />the City’s safety consultant as a security measure and the purchase would be eligible for CARES <br />funding. <br /> <br />-Staff will provide an update on public safety costs and seek any further Council direction. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> <br />An updated financial impact to the City will be provided with your quarterly financial reports in <br />October. The City received $745,040 in CARES funding from the Federal Government; portions <br />of this money are earmarked for the business assistance program, City related supplies and <br />Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Public Safety related supplies and PPE, and Public Safety <br />salaries. <br /> <br />Attachment <br /> <br />N/A <br />
